1 Bearings

 

You also need to print two bearings! These are the dimensions:

  • outer diameter: 36 mm
  • inner diameter: 18 mm
  • width: 8 mm

There are bearing generators on makerworld.

 

2 Support Material

 

For the lowest possible friction it is recommended to bypass the ptfe tubes and feed soft TPU directly to the print head.

I used generative design and topology optimization to design this spool holder. In my opinion the results look extremely cool, but the downside of this model is, that generative design is meant for slm printers where you don't need support structures. On FDM printers those objects need a lot of support material because of the cantilevers.
