Description
This Light Upgrade extends the Kallax Rack Module – PRED Gridfinity Toolcases (6U) with integrated LED lighting, providing uniform, functional illumination for the Gridfinity Toolcases used
The LED strip is mounted above the front edge of the rack, illuminating both the boxes and the side small parts compartments
The precise positioning creates a clean light edge without glare – ideal for workshop, shelf, or work environments
The upgrade is fully retrofittable:
For already printed and glued rack modules, a drilling template is included, which allows the necessary holes to be precisely placed without having to dismantle the module
For new constructions, an alternative front frame is also included, which directly integrates the LED holder
Thus, the Light Upgrade can either be added later or incorporated directly during new construction
Notes
The Light Upgrade is designed as a pure expansion module and can be printed and mounted independently of the actual rack
It is compatible with both the standard and solo rack variants
The pull knobs for the side small parts compartments shown in the pictures are not part of this Light Upgrade
They are available as a separate project for download and can be printed and used independently
This allows the lighting upgrade to be flexibly combined with different knob variants or retrofitted to existing systems

- Layer height: 0.20 mm
- Material: PLA+ or PETG
- Infill: 5-10%
- Supports: no supports
- Post-processing: optional deburring of visible edges
Note on LED Technology
The upgrade is designed for commercially available LED strips (e.g. 12 V or 24 V)
LED strips (10mm width), power supplies, cables and switches are not included and can be freely chosen as needed
