🔧 Heavy-Duty Modular Bed Scraper

This is the first bed scraper I’ve used that actually survives repeated use.

I designed this scraper after being frustrated with blades chipping, bending, or wearing down after just a few prints. This model has now been used more than 30 times with no visible wear on the blade tip.

🧱 Materials & print recommendations

Blade (recommended)

  • Material: ABS
  • Layer height: 0.8 mm recommended for maximum edge strength
    • 0.16 mm was tested but resulted in a weaker blade edge
  • Walls: minimum 3 walls
  • Temperature: increase hotend temperature by +5 °C compared to your normal ABS settings for improved layer bonding

This configuration provides the strongest and most durable blade edge.

Handle

  • Material: PLA or ABS (Material recommended ABS)
  • PLA works very well for the handle and has held up nicely after several uses, PLA version is needed for this print, stl or print profile 
  • PLA settings:
    • Layer height: 0.8 mm
    • 4 walls
    • Increase temperature by +4 °C compared to standard PLA

       

🔁 Blade swapping

  • Old blade presses out easily
  • New blade slides in from underneath
  • Blade locks securely and will not mount incorrectly

🧪 Tested & proven

This scraper has been used extensively on real prints, not just test scraps.
After 30+ uses, the blade edge is still intact and performs like new.
