Ever had a similiar conversation with your family: "Did you feed the dog?" "I thought you fed the cat!"

Stop the guessing games, accidental double feeds, or sad hungry stares with this handy magnetic tracker. A simple slider system keeps the whole household on the same page about whether morning or evening feeding time is done.

🐾 Key Features & Customization

  • Choose Your Pet: The design includes 3 different slider options to suit your household: A Dog face, a Cat face, or a Generic Food Bowl. Pick your favourite before printing! Print face down for a textured or smooth finish. Supports not required.
  • Versatile Mounting: Designed primarily for the fridge, but also includes an optional picture hook slot on the back if you prefer wall mounting. In addition, you could use double sided tape to secure to the fridge/wall. 
  • Snap-Fit Assembly: The main body assembles easily by just clicking together. No screws or glue required for the frame itself.
  • Quick Print: The entire design prints in just over 3 hours on slightly tweaked settings.

🖨️ Printing Guidelines

Important Colour Tip for Readability: For the "YES/NO" text to stand out clearly, I strongly recommend printing the Back Panel piece in a contrasting colour to the Front Faceplate (e.g., A black back panel with a grey front faceplate, or vice-versa).

  • Material: Standard PLA works perfectly.
  • Supports: Not required for the main structure.

🧲 Hardware & Assembly

Magnets: This design utilises 4 magnets to attach securely to a fridge. The print profile includes various plates featuring different pre-sized slots for common magnet sizes:

  • 6x3mm
  • 8x3mm (my preferred size and is what is shown in the model photos)
  • 10x3mm

Note: You only need a small amount of glue to secure the magnets into their slots.

 

Custom Sizes: Feel free to experiment with Bambu Studio modifiers if you need to adjust the holes for different diameter magnets you have on hand. Remember to add a small amount of tolerance, I used .3mm for all my 3mm deep magnets. Caution: Any magnet deeper than 3mm will protrude out the back of the model.

 

Assembly Steps:

  1. Glue your chosen 4 magnets into the slots on the back panel.
  2. Place your chosen sliders (Dog, Cat, or Bowl) into the tracks on the back panel. Mix and match if you prefer.
  3. Align the front faceplate and snap it firmly onto the back panel until it clicks into place.
  4. Attach the fridge or wall.
  5. Enjoy and hopefully avoid double-feeding your beloved pet!
