Bill of Materials
- Elfa 220 mm shelf bracket x 2: Standard model for solid shelves, i.e. not the wire-shelf bracket
- 28 mm wood, plastic or steel bars x 2: For filament racks longer than 1.5 m it is best to use hardwood or other materials
- Elfa wallband x 2: Any length. The short 700 mm wallband is just the right length for 3 levels.
Description
With this easy-to-print adapter, you can use the classic Elfa wallband system to create a convenient and modular filament storage system. The adapter fits perfectly into a standard Elfa 220 mm shelf bracket and holds two 28 mm wood rods or plastic pipes. Print it in white PLA, PETG or ABS with supports on the build-plate only. The adapters at each end are mirrored, so make sure to print both ends.
The used 28 mm rods can be secured using 4-5 mm self-tapping screws on the underside of each rod. The adapters are held firmly in place in the Elfa bracket without any mounting, but can be further secured using M3 threaded heat-set inserts (e.g. Ruthex) and 3 mm machine screws. The adapters will need to be lifted out when adjusting the bracket level, so gluing them in place is not advised.
