Celebrate a massive milestone in renewable energy with this model of the S2000 SAWES (Stratosphere Airborne Wind Energy System). The real-world S2000 recently made history as the world’s first megawatt-class airborne turbine to connect to a power grid from 2,000 meters in the air. This model captures its unique aesthetic and groundbreaking engineering.

Design Features

  • To maintain the futuristic look of the real unit, the central airship body is printed in place, suspended within the turbine ring.
  • The aerodynamic fins are designed to press-fit around the outer ring for a clean, seamless finish.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Gently move the suspended airship body after printing to free it from the plate.
  2. Press-fit the wings into the slots around the perimeter of the turbine ring.
  3. Use the printed joint to align the tail with the rear of the airship body to finish the model.

For the best result, use white PLA Tough+.
