Description:

The One World Trade Center stands in Lower Manhattan at Ground Zero and is the main building of the new World Trade Center complex

• Symbolic Height: The building is exactly 1,776 feet (approx. 541 meters) high. This number refers to the year 1776, in which the United States Declaration of Independence was signed
• Architecture: The design is by David Childs (SOM). The base of the building is square, but as it rises, the edges twist to form eight long, isosceles triangles. In the center, the building forms a perfect octagon
• The Facade: The outer skin consists of highly reflective glass that reflects the sky and the surroundings, making the massive building appear almost transparent depending on the light
• Security: It is considered one of the safest office buildings in the world, with a massive concrete core and special protective features at the base (the 56-meter-high "podium")
• One World Observatory: The top floors (100–102) offer one of the most spectacular observation decks in the world
