Description

Rubber Band Mini X-bow (Easy Print + Simple Assembly)

This is a compact rubber band mini X-bow / launcher designed for fast, hassle-free printing and easy assembly. The model is optimized to print cleanly with minimal effort, and it uses only simple parts for the power system.

What you need

  • 4x standard rubber bands (used doubled)
  • 1x string / cord (used as the bowstring) The bowstring does not need to be elastic. It can be rigid / non-stretch (e.g., regular string or cord), because the flex and power come from the rubber bands, not from the string itself.

Included in the print profile:

  • Threaded screw + handle
  • 3x washers
  • 3x arrows
  • X-bow parts

🖨️ Printing

  • Easy to print (beginner-friendly)

Recommended material: PLA or PETG

For best results, leave the parts on the build plate until they have fully cooled. Removing them while they’re still warm can cause slight bending/warping.

This is particularly important for the arrows, which work best when they are perfectly straight for stable flight.

Also remove the brims before assembly.

🔧 Assembly (quick)

  1. Main pivot screw: Assemble the X-bow body parts and insert the printed threaded screw + handle through the pivot. Place the items as shown in this photo

  2. Washers (important): Add the 3 printed washers:
    • Place them between the screw/handle and the two main body parts that form the X-bow (to reduce friction and improve movement).
  3. Tighten until everything is secure, but make sure the arms can still move smoothly.
  4. Rubber bands: Place the rubber bands doubled (fold each rubber band in half) and hook them onto the built-in notches/hooks as shown.
  5. Bowstring: Tie the string between the two bow tips to create the bowstring.

⚠️ Safety

This model is meant as a fun desk toy / target launcher.
Do not aim at people or animals, and always use the included arrows responsibly. Eye protection is recommended.

Have fun!!!!
