RescYou Band – Your personal NFC emergency bracelet that can save lives

RescYou Band is an innovative, ultra-light, and minimalist NFC bracelet that quickly provides important information in an emergency. It was specially developed for situations where every second counts – whether in traffic, during sports, while traveling, or in everyday life

Maximum Security – without an app or cloud

The NFC chip integrated into the bracelet can store almost any personal data. Whether name, emergency contacts, blood type, medications, allergies, pre-existing conditions, or even notes like "please use Epipen" – the information is stored directly and locally on the chip. A free app like NFC Tools (available for Android & iOS) is sufficient to write the data

No special app is needed for reading: a simple NFC-enabled smartphone is enough to display the data directly on the screen – completely offline, without internet, without registration, and without cloud services

This makes RescYou Band not only particularly data-efficient but also reliably usable abroad or with poor reception

Weighing just about 3 grams (when using Creality Hyper PLA, without the bracelet), RescYou Band is one of the lightest NFC bracelets in the world. It is comfortable to wear – whether during sports, at school, or on the go. Its discreet design makes it suitable for everyday use without being obtrusive

Open Source – Fully customizable and easy to build yourself

RescYou Band is an open-source project, which means: All design data, models, and instructions are publicly accessible. Anyone can build, adapt, or further develop the bracelet themselves – without expensive special technology or prior knowledge

🔧 How to build it step by step:

Obtain an NFC chip:
Get a commercially available, writable NFC chip (e.g., NTAG213 or NTAG215)

3D print the casing:
Print the casing and both chips (perhaps the thinner one twice if the band is thick) with a 3D printer (recommended material: PLA or PETG). The print files can be found in downloads. Recommended print settings: 100% Infill, 0.2mm layer height, 0.4 mm nozzle

Obtain a band:

Before assembly, decide which band you will use. It can be anything, for example, a rubber band or shoelaces

Attach the NFC chip:

Take one of the thinner chips and precisely glue the NFC chip onto it. Now, take either a thick or a thin chip and press it into the casing with the NFC chip sticker facing up. Compare if the top plate is flush with the edges; if not, try a thin plate. If that also doesn't help, edit the STEP file. Finally, compare the photos with your result

Write to the chip:
Use an app like NFC Tools to write your personal emergency data directly to the chip – completely locally and offline. (Common error: You should select Write > Add Record > Contacts as most devices display this format)

Test functionality:
Test your RescYou Band with an NFC-enabled smartphone to ensure that the stored data is displayed correctly
