Description

A spare 3D-printed key for unlocking drive trays in Synology DiskStation servers is a practical emergency solution designed for situations when the original key is lost or unavailable.

The model has been carefully designed to match the locking mechanism used in selected devices from the DiskStationseries, allowing you to safely and quickly unlock HDD/SSD trays without damaging the enclosure.

Project Features:

  • Precisely modeled key profile
  • Compact size – easy to store as a backup
  • Fast printing time
  • No supports required

Ideal For:

  • Keeping as a backup key in an office or server room
  • IT service and maintenance kits
  • Home NAS users who want an extra spare key

Printing Recommendations:

PLA is suitable for occasional use, while PETG or ABS is recommended for improved mechanical durability. Since the key is subject to light mechanical load, standard print settings are sufficient. A 0.2 mm layer height and 100% infill are recommended for maximum strength and rigidity.

This simple yet functional design helps prevent downtime and ensures quick access to your NAS drives whenever needed.
