Description
Extended Legs for Generic Laptop Height Riser
This is a replacement lower leg for a generic laptop stand, designed to raise the laptop screen higher so it aligns better with an external monitor. This is a simple upgrade that can dramatically improve ergonomics by bringing your laptop screen to proper monitor height if you happen to already have this same stand.
I originally made this for a coworker who was frustrated that their laptop riser didn’t go high enough. Instead of stacking books or buying a new stand, I designed these extended legs to increase the maximum height while preserving the original adjustment mechanism.
These were designed around a common style of aluminum laptop riser frequently found on Amazon, like this one: https://a.co/d/08kHFWng
Many stands share this same spring-loaded telescoping leg design, so this may work with many similar models.
How It Works
This part is an exact functional replacement for the original lower leg, but longer. It retains full compatibility with the stand’s existing:
Spring-loaded height adjustment mechanism
Upper leg section
Locking positions
Simply swap the original lower leg for this extended version to increase the maximum height.
Design Improvements
In addition to extending the height, this version includes modifications to allow it to be Fully printable without supports:
Teardrop-shaped adjustment holes
Internal chamfer at the top interface
Included Files
My personal height version (ready to print)
Extra-long 50 cm version
Can be cut to any custom height using the Cut tool in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, or similar slicers
Future Improvements
I’m considering additional upgrades, including:
Extended upper leg section for even greater height range
Lattice or lightweight internal structure to reduce filament usage while maintaining strength

Additional Note
Also, I took a picture of my full dual monitor setup to show how these legs raise the laptop to the correct height to match my monitors. Several other items in the photo are also 3D printed: including the keyboard palm rest, phone holder for mic arm, coasters, mouse stand, phone charger.
