Description
Archaeologists have done it: after thousands of years under the sands, they’ve uncovered proof that KU sports spirit is older than recorded history. This is a single-piece Kansas Jayhawk reimagined as an “ancient Egyptian” relic—part mascot, part temple statue, full Rock Chalk energy.
Features
- Single-piece, no assembly
- “Carved stone” / temple relic styling with Jayhawk silhouette
- Funny concept: KU pride as an eternal civilization-level tradition
- Great desk, shelf, or game-room display
Print Settings (Single Piece)
- Material: PLA (matte PLA looks most “artifact-like”)
- Layer height: 0.2 mm for fast; 0.12–0.16 mm for best detail
- Walls: 3+ perimeters recommended for a solid statue feel
- Infill: 10–15% (more only if you want extra weight)
- Supports: Ideally none. If your printer struggles with the beak/crest/under-chin areas, use tree supports “touching buildplate” only.
- Adhesion: Brim optional; helpful if the base footprint is narrow
Orientation
- Print upright on the base for the cleanest “carved” surfaces and easiest finish.
Finishing Ideas
- Quick artifact look: light sanding + dark wash in creases + dry-brush highlights
- “Museum mode”: sandstone/limestone paint scheme
- “KU wink”: keep it stone, add minimal KU accents on small details only
Scale
- 120–160 mm tall: perfect desk statue
- 200+ mm: centerpiece display
