18650 Battery Holders
Print Profile(2)

Description
These are based on the design/concept by Alex Yang (YXC) on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2668159).
I have tweaked the design in order to make these easier to use in prototypes by adding multiple ways of mounting them in enclosures and/or mounting grids.
Each one can be mounted with either screws, zip ties or glue (or even a combination of those).
At the same time, I've reduced the footprint needed to fit these in a box, reducing the original size from 91mm down to 78mm (with an optional 75mm version if you really need to squeeze out a bit more space).
Electrical contact with the batteries can be made using a couple of options. Wrapping thin wire through the holes at the contact points works for a quick, no additional parts method, or you can use M2 or M3 screws through the centre hole and hold your wires in place with those.
I've included 5 battery layouts:
- Single cell
- Dual cell series
- Dual cell parallel
- Quad cell series
- Quad cell parallel
Each with a 75 and 78mm option. Use the 78mm version unless you're really tight on space.
Notes:
- The spring mechanism floats 0.2mm above the base, this is by design to keep the spring moveable, while also giving the holder a solid base for mounting purposes. After printing, you will need to free the spring from the being stuck to the base. Simply use a little screwdriver to pry the spring from the base and then a bit of finger force to push the movable contact side away (be careful not to snap that).
The spring mechanism will generate a warning in your slicer about a floating cantilever or similar. Ignore that warning. Do not enable supports!

Boosts are always appreciated and allow me to buy more filament for designing and testing models! - Thank you!
