Description
Wavy - Parametric Lamp with Exclusive Design
Wavy is not just a piece of furniture, but a celebration of geometric freedom offered by additive manufacturing. Its organic profile, characterized by a succession of fluid waves, represents a challenge to traditional production techniques
The Engineering Behind the Aesthetics
This model was designed to be achievable exclusively through 3D printing. The complexity of its undercuts and the monolithic nature of the structure would make industrial production via injection molding extremely expensive or technically impossible as a single piece. Owning a Wavy means having an object that exists only thanks to the technology on your desk
Design Features
- Impossible Geometry: A complex design that plays with layering to diffuse light sculpturally
- Magnetic Snap-Fit System: The structure anchors to the base using 4 round 5x2mm magnets, ensuring perfect stability and a clean look, free of visible screws
- Plug & Play: Fully compatible with the MakerWorld LED Kit 001 for quick and safe electrical installation
Instructions
For optimal results, I recommend precise flow calibration to ensure that the magnet recesses are the exact size. I have added manual supports only for the magnet recesses of the main body, to prevent deformation and ensure a perfect fit. A light touch of cyanoacrylate glue will lock the magnets in place permanently
Note: This design is optimized to minimize supports, leveraging your printer's bridging capabilities despite the complexity of the curves
