Description

Here is the perfect duck mailbox for your next cruise for sticking it right to your cabin door or your cabin roof if you feel like it.  It's fully magnetic and uses some very strong magnets to keep it in place.  It is also fully customizable, so you can add your family name and your hometown/state/province/country, whatever you feel like to make it yours.

Version 2 Upgrade:    The new hinge uses a strand of filament to create a much stronger hinge than before.  Just run some filament through both sides while the door is open, cut the ends and put a dab of glue to secure the hinge.  The door magnet is now unnecessary as the clearance gaps are much tighter and can keep the closed without the need of a magnet, magnet spots were left in case you want to add magnets though.  If the comments suggest this clearance is too tight, I can add more clearance to this model, but for my prints it holds well, but everyone's printer gaps are a bit different, so please leave me feedback on the new version.  I have also left the old version up for those who prefer that hinge system.  Image below of filament strand through hinge.

I use 5mm x 2mm magnets to secure the front door, it does hold on its own a bit, but recommend the magnets really keep it nice and closed, especially during rough seas.  I buy these magnets in large quantities to use with my mini duck army.  I currently have a leprechaun one in my profile that uses these magnets and plan to add more mini ducks.  For the rear of the mailbox, I used 3 strong magnets, its a bit overkill, but it holds really well.

Magnets:

Door Magnets 5mmx2mm - Amazon Link for 240 magnets

Strong Rear Magnets - Amazon Link for 6 magnets - Use 3 Magnets

Put the magnets in the rear of the mailbox with this surface facing towards you/door side, the other side without the ring in the metal will not work as a magnet.

To attach the flag the inner latch must be inserted so that the long part is going in the same direction as the flag.  Make sure the stop indent on the latch is facing towards the mailbox wall so that it can be used to hold the flag in place when it is facing up.  Once the latch is in place, put a couple of dabs of superglue on the outside of the latch to keep the latch and flag from falling off.  Please see pictures below:

To edit the words on the front cover.  Go into the Object tab and click the text part you want to edit.  Click the Text Shape editing option at the top of Bambu Studio and then you can edit the words in that object.  You will most likely have to resize and rescale any words you change to fit on the object.  Horizontal alignment tool helps a lot here.  See below picture for editing text:
