Description

This is an articulating excavator model with an arm and bucket to be mounted to a flat interface, like a box. The bucket is articulated with the movement of the lever. Pulling the lever backwards extends the bucket. This is mainly for a costume, since the boom does not move, the range of the bucket is limited.

Misc Comments:

  • The Long Linkage spans between the Boom P1 and Bucket parts. 
  • The Short Linkage spans between the Arm and Lever. 
  • All .22in holes need a threaded insert installed flush to the surface. This includes the flat mounting interface on the Boom. 
  • All articulating joints contain a .28in clearance hole to accept a .25"OD x .25"L spacer and #8 screw. When the screw is tightened onto the spacer, a pivot joint is created with the bearing surface between the spacer OD and the clearance hole ID. Ensure the screw is sufficiently tightened and rotates with the component with the fastener. If there is high friction, confirm the spacer lengths are .25"L and/or confirm the clearance holes are >.25" (nominally .28"). 
  • Handle is optional. It can be placed on either or both sides.
