Not a decorative item – but functionally built.

This insect hotel is designed for permanent outdoor use.
It withstands sun, rain, and temperature fluctuations – provided it is printed with a suitable outdoor material and correctly assembled.

📏 80 mm effective hole depth

• closed back panel
• stable brood channels
• better colonization
• protection from predators
• hole diameter 3–10 mm

• focus on 5–7 mm (highest acceptance rate)

   

🔝 Reinforced Roof

• 4 mm roof thickness
• enlarged overhang (25 mm side / 50 mm front)
• structurally reinforced

Reliably protects against driving rain and direct weathering.

🔩 Reinforced Mounting Points

Solidly designed at the top and bottom.
For secure screwing to a wall or post.

No wobbling. No swinging.
Stability significantly increases acceptance.

⚠ Important Notes

Do not scale.
The hole diameters are optimized for wild bees.
Scaling changes the probability of colonization.

Do not print in PLA.
PLA is not UV and heat resistant and can warp outdoors.

Suitable materials:

• PETG (minimum requirement)
• ASA
• ABS

📍 Assembly

✔ Ideally under a roof overhang
✔ Alternatively mounted outdoors (integrated weather protection)
✔ South to Southeast
✔ Sunny and wind-protected
✔ At least 80 cm above ground
✔ Clear flight path
✔ Flowering plants nearby

🔩 Mount firmly (very important)
The house must be rigidly screwed.
The mounting points are designed for flat mounting surfaces.

Suitable for example:

• house wall
• fence
• square post

Not suitable:

• Round posts
• Flexible or wobbly mounts
• Free hanging

The hotel must be rigidly mounted and must not swing or tip in the wind, as this significantly reduces colonization.
