Description
Design and print your own custom FPV drone frame with this fully parametric model. This generator creates a lightweight but strong X-style racing frame optimized for 3D printing. The design includes a bottom plate with integrated arms, a top plate, and standoffs for assembly using M3 hardware.
The frame uses smooth aerodynamic arm geometry and structural reinforcement around the motor mounts while maintaining lightweight cutouts for reduced weight.
Because the model is parametric, you can easily adjust the size to fit different builds and component layouts before exporting the final STL.
This frame style is inspired by common racing frames such as the TBS Source One but optimized for 3D printing.
Features
- Fully parametric frame generator
- X-style FPV racing layout
- Integrated motor mounting pads
- Motor wire routing holes
- Flight controller mounting holes
- Battery strap slots
- Lightweight structural cutouts
- Top plate + bottom plate + spacers
- All parts generated on one build plate
- Smooth aerodynamic arm geometry
Included Parts
The model automatically generates:
- 1 × Bottom frame plate with arms
- 1 × Top plate
- 4 × Standoffs
Assembly uses M3 screws.
Default Specifications
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Wheelbase | 220 mm |
| Frame Style | X-Frame FPV |
| Arm Width | 14 mm |
| Arm Thickness | 5 mm |
| Plate Thickness | 3 mm |
| Motor Mount Diameter | 24 mm |
| Motor Mount Screw Spacing | 16 mm |
| Flight Controller Mount | 30 × 30 mm |
| Standoff Height | 25 mm |
| Hardware | M3 screws |
Recommended Components
This frame size works well with typical 5-inch FPV builds.
Example setup:
- 22xx / 23xx brushless motors
- 5-inch propellers
- 30×30 flight controller stack
- 4S–6S LiPo battery
Print Settings
Recommended starting settings:
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Walls: 4–6
- Infill: 25–40% (gyroid or cubic)
- Material: PLA+, PETG, or Nylon
- Supports: Not required
For best durability, print with high wall count instead of high infill.
Assembly
- Print all parts.
- Mount motors to the arm motor pads using M3 screws.
- Install the flight controller stack using the 30×30 mounting holes.
- Attach the top plate using the included standoffs.
- Secure the battery using the integrated strap slots.
Customization
Because the model is parametric, you can easily change:
- wheelbase size
- arm thickness
- frame plate thickness
- motor mount spacing
- flight controller mount size
- standoff height
