Description

Stop ruining your textured or smooth PEI plates with metal tools! This fully customizable generator creates the perfect plastic bed scraper to safely remove stubborn prints without damaging your expensive build surfaces. The extended handle and procedurally generated cross-braced cutout make it incredibly strong, lightweight, and comfortable to hold under pressure.

🧠 Behind the Design (For Makers & Moderators)

While this utility may appear as a simple extrusion, it is a highly optimized, fully parametric OpenSCAD mechanical tool. The algorithm mathematically constructs the wedge blade utilizing calculated hull() transformations, specifically incorporating an engineered 0.2mm blunt tip layer to guarantee FDM first-layer printability and prevent edge degradation. The handle geometry dynamically adapts to user parameters, utilizing procedural 2D hull() and circle() nodes to generate an internal structural cross-brace, maximizing leverage and rigidity under high shear forces. Furthermore, it executes precise boolean subtractions (difference()) with engineered Z-axis overlaps (e.g., Thickness + 2 and -1 translations) to actively prevent Z-fighting and ensure a mathematically perfect, manifold mesh for slicing.

🛠️ What can you customize?

  • Blade Width: Make it extra wide for large parts or narrow for small, detailed prints.
  • Handle Size: Adjust the length and width to perfectly fit your hand.
  • Thickness: Control the rigidity. A thicker base gives more leverage, while a thinner base bends slightly to get under prints.
  • Cross Brace: Toggle the central support rib in the handle. Keep it on for maximum strength, or turn it off for a sleek, open loop.

🖨️ Print Settings

  • Material: PETG or ABS/ASA is highly recommended because it flexes slightly and does not chip easily. PLA works fine but the edge might wear down faster.
  • Infill: 100% (Solid). It needs to withstand pushing force without snapping.
  • Walls: 4 walls to ensure the angled blade is printed completely solid.
  • Supports: 100% support-free.
