AIR-HORN
Print Profile(1)

Description
The original model was made for 1.3-inch pipes, and since we don't have pipes of that size in Italy, I modified the original model to fit drain pipes with an outside diameter of 40mm. To make the horns sound like those of a truck, I cut the pipe into a 40cm section (long horn) and a 23cm section (short horn). The membrane was made with two strips of transparent tape glued together (to eliminate the sticky parts, see Fig. 1). The membrane was applied to the "main part" with liquid glue, making sure it adhered well. For proper operation, the "main part cover" must adhere well to the "main part," securing it with eight M4 screws and their respective nuts. The membrane must be taut, and the pipe must rest on top, so that it vibrates when air passes through it. Main factors that influence the sound: - Membrane material - Tube length - Front bell size To get the best performance, you need 6 or 7 bars of pressure (for both), but they also work with 1 bar (both). You can even play with wind instruments. If you have any questions, please leave a comment.
