Description
a nordic-inspired lampshade
Given the size of my printer, I couldn't make it any bigger.
And I wanted the bulb to be hidden.
It all mounts on an IKEA Sunneby base.
A small E27 bulb is preferable (80mm high, 45mm in diameter) for invisibility. A larger bulb will be visible, but it doesn't look bad either.
I added a type of cover that helps to conceal the mount and balance the profile. It is simply placed; a slight demarcation is visible, but one gets used to it.
In the photos, the black model is shown with and without this cover.
Depending on the filament's transparency, the retaining ring (to be mounted on the IKEA mount) is either thin (for dark colors) or has a cover for light colors that allow light to pass through. The correct settings for compatibility with the mount are in the print profile. I printed it in PETG HF.
The light-colored model is in PLA Wood White Oak.
Due to the overall thinness and height, I modeled supports. Without them, vibrations become too pronounced and ruin the print.
