Tesla Model 3 (2017–2021) Duckbill Spoiler
Print Profile(1)

Description
I designed this spoiler for my own 2019 Tesla Model 3 after experimenting with different trunk profiles and wanting something that matched the factory body lines but could still be printed at home.
The design follows a duckbill style profile, giving the rear of the car a slightly more aggressive look while still keeping the clean OEM aesthetic. The geometry was modeled to sit naturally on the Model 3 trunk curvature, so it blends into the rear deck rather than looking like a bolt-on piece.
Because most printers cannot print the full spoiler in one piece, the model is split into sections. After printing, the parts are assembled using adhesive and plastic welding.
To make installation easier, I added a continuous groove along the underside of the spoiler. This groove is sized to accept 3M automotive mounting tape, which helps locate the spoiler on the trunk and provides additional holding strength once installed.
The result is a spoiler that can be printed, assembled, and mounted with common materials while still achieving a clean automotive finish.
Assembly
- Print all sections of the spoiler.
- Glue the sections together using a strong adhesive (CA glue, epoxy, or plastic weld).
- Reinforce the seams using plastic welding or filler if desired.
- Sand and finish the surface if you want a smoother automotive finish.
- Apply 3M automotive double-sided tape inside the groove on the bottom of the spoiler.
- Clean the trunk surface thoroughly and mount.
