Filament Spool Rack using 1/2" PVC Pipe

A simple, sturdy, and low‑cost filament spool rack built around common 1/2" PVC pipe. The design uses two printed end brackets that hold the pipe.  Optional middle bracket can be used if you want to print a longer rack.  This will keep the PVC pipe from bending.  THe middle bracket has slightly wide holes, so the it slides move easly onto the pipe.

Core Components

End Brackets - Two are needed
Optional Middle Bracket - Depending on the size,  you might not need any or you may need more that one.

Standard 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC works perfectly

Cut two pieces of PVC pipe of equal lengths.  Cut to whatever length works for your situation.

PVC is inexpensive and widely available.

Fast print: Brackets print in about 1 1/2 hours on most printers.

In my case, I wanted to use with a wire frame baker's rack that is 36" wide by 14" deep.  I cut 4 pieces of PVC pipe 33" long.  I printed four end brackets and two middle brackets.  This allowed me to create two racks on one wire shelf.  I can get 12 spools on one rack or a total of 24 spools on two racks.  Rack will hold normal 1k spools, 1k refills, and 200g spools.  May work for others as well.

There are other spool racks out there that may be better, but I like designing my own stuff if possible, and I wanted something simple and easy to assemble and print.

I hope you find this useful!
