Hey everyone! Here is our March 3D model! This is a backflow incense waterfall shaped like a dragon eggshell. Inside, you'll find a dragon sitting at the top of the shell, fiercely protecting the castles below. When you use a backflow incense cone, the smoke cascades down like a waterfall between the castles and under the dragon, giving the model incredible depth and epicness (plus a nice smell for your room!).

I wanted to make this model as versatile as possible. It works beautifully as a tabletop decoration, a bookend for fantasy lovers, or epic D&D decor. I even designed a small hidden hanger on the back so you can mount it directly on your wall!

To get the finish in the photos, I dry-brushed the dragon and the shell with golden Rub 'n Buff, and used a silver color for the castles and the rocks.

💡 Important Material & Printing Tips:

Since this model involves heat from an incense cone, filament choice is crucial!

  • Ideal Material: ABS filament is highly recommended for its heat resistance.
  • PETG: I printed mine using PETG. The incense cone holder area got softened a little bit after burning 4 cones, but it is still working perfectly.
  • PLA Warning: Do NOT print this using PLA filament if you intend to use the incense feature! It will melt around the incense cone after just one use (see the result photo below).

However, you can absolutely use PLA if you just want to display it as a beautiful decor piece without the smoke waterfall.

  • 🔗 Hardware & Upgrades:
  • Incense Cones: I used standard backflow incense cones to create the waterfall effect. They are very cheap. I bought a 120-piece pack on Amazon for about $6.
  • Pro Tip for Longer Life: Cut a small piece of wire mesh and place it inside the cone holder to protect the plastic from direct heat. You can find the mesh on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/4b4de8q

  • Print Settings (Recommended):
  • Walls loops: 2, Infill: 2%, Pattern: Lightning
  • As always, tag me in your social media posts if you print it. I would love to see what color combinations you come up with, and I'll try to share them with my followers!
  • Happy printing!
