Description

Introduction 🛠

I created simple but practical molds for casting digits 0–9. You can use them as decorations, labels, or cast your own birthday candles from wax. The model is designed to print well and be usable with various materials.

Usage Options 💡

  • Plaster and other casts – ideal for decorations or creative projects; the wick hole can be easily sealed with plasticine.
  • Wax casts – great for making your own birthday candles.

Materials and Printing Recommendations 🖨

  • For wax, I recommend ASA
I used ASA with 3 perimeters to make the mold more heat resistant and shape-retentive.
  • For plaster, PLA is sufficient
Plaster is easy to work with, so regular PLA works fine.
  • Sealing the mold
To prevent leaks and keep the mold tightly closed, I found wrapping it with tape effective.
  • Mold adjustments
I did not surface-treat the molds. I used ordinary plaster and wax from a cemetery candle bought at Kaufland — it worked surprisingly well.

My Casting Experience 🧪

I have almost no experience with casting, so this project is ideal even for complete beginners. Just pour the material, let it harden, and carefully remove it. If you have tips on improving casting, I'd love to read them in the comments.
