Chisel Edge Guards - Protective Sleeves

My chisels often suffered in the toolbox. Since I have so many different sizes, there was no template that fit. ☹

I measured my chisels' width and thickness with calipers, then added one millimeter to the width and assumed a maximum of half a millimeter undersize for the thickness. This is why the gradation is in half-millimeter increments.

They should slide on well but not clamp too tightly! If necessary, warm them up a bit with a lighter and squeeze them together if they sit too loosely.

WARNING: My chisels are razor-sharp, and slipping while pushing them on means cuts. I only place them on and then firmly press them down on the workbench. It's not safe. Please be careful!

I have implemented all sizes I've encountered or that appear in typical toolboxes. If a size is still missing, just let me know – I'd be happy to add it.

You can, of course, also adjust them by scaling in the Y-direction. But not too much, otherwise the wall thicknesses will change as well.

In the side panel, you can simply deselect the sizes you don't need and then only print what you require.

I did not add any labeling. Those who want it can write the numbers on it with a permanent marker. 😉It wasn't important to me.

I printed my protective covers with PLA, works perfectly.
