Description
This is my detailed rendition of the ESP E-II Horizon guitar, crafted with ultra-high detail and proportionate to the original design.
It prints in several parts, 21 in total, to ensure print quality and give you confidence in your results. Just need to glue everything together with your favourite CA glue.
The body top is highly contoured as the original guitar is, so to avoid the staircase effect on the top of the body, it needs to be printed at an angle. You could print it standing up, but the white binding becomes harder to print without a .2mm nozzle. The neck is printed standing up for the same reasons, to have a nicer contour on the back of the neck. Everything is printable with a 0.4mm nozzle, but the headstock top and the fretboard retain much more detail when printed with a 0.2mm nozzle.
To make my top look like flamed maple, I used a 2-colour (black/purple) filament and adjusted the printing angles to maximize the “flaming” effect. It took a while to get the right results, but this was really worth the time!!!
