This volleyball is part of a growing collection of sports balls born from a 3D design challenge to create complex, multi-color spheres with perfectly smooth surfaces.
The design uses a modular system of interlocking panels to achieve a clean, seamless sphere without supports, waste, or AMS. Multiple color patterns can be created using the same parts, making it both efficient and highly customizable.

Assembly Instructions
- Slide 2 side panels into 1 mid panel to create one side of the ball.
- Repeat step 1 until you have 6 completed sides.
- Connect the sides together, keeping each new side perpendicular to the previous one.
Do not fully press the joints into place until all sides are assembled. - Once all sides are in place, press firmly to lock everything together.
- For a more secure assembly, remove one side and add a small dab of glue inside, then reassemble.
- Optional: A keychain panel can be used to attach a ring.
Printing Notes
- Profiles tested on Bambu Cool Plate (SuperTack) with Bambu Matte filament
- Ensure good bed adhesion for accurate panel geometry
- AMS profiles: each plate prints a complete ball depending on the selected pattern
- Non-AMS users: make sure to print a total of 6 mid panels and 12 side panels to assemble one full ball
