Introduction Upgrade your plant shelf with this elegant, fully parametric Ribbed Bonsai Planter. Designed with a modern architectural aesthetic, this model features a seamless vertical ribbing texture and a robust, support-free top rim. Whether you need a tiny succulent pot or a large traditional bonsai tray, you can customize every dimension to fit your specific needs.

Customization Guide This model is built using OpenSCAD, allowing you to tweak the following parameters:

  • Dimensions: Adjust pot_length, pot_width, and pot_height to match your plant's root system.
  • Corner Styling: Use r_corner to go from a sharp rectangle to a soft, rounded oval.
  • The Flare Effect: Change body_taper (e.g., 1.0 for straight walls, 1.2 for a 20% outward flare).
  • Seamless Ribbing: Control the "fineness" of the texture by adjusting rib_d (rib diameter) and rib_overlap.
  • Drainage Options: Toggle drainage_holes on or off with a single click.
  • Architectural Rim: Fine-tune the rim_outset and rim_height for a personalized "lid" look.

Printing Recommendations

  • Supports: None! The rim is designed with a 45-degree transition chamfer to ensure a flawless print without any support material.
  • Material: PETG is recommended for water resistance and durability, though PLA works beautifully for indoor decorative use.
  • Layer Height: 0.16mm - 0.2mm recommended to capture the detail of the ribs.
  • Infill: 15-20% (Gyroid suggested for strength).
  • Wall Loops: 3-4 loops to ensure the pot is watertight.
