This is a project that I have been wanting to do for a long time! It’s a suit tie that functions as a Jacobs ladder! The ladder has been redesigned to have more clearance between the joints. It is also longer and is designed to have improved bridging. Hope this whimsical design can bring a smile to a few of your coworkers!
Follow the assembly instructions below. If you are printing the H series model, you can skip to step 2.
- For X & P series users: The ladders last block must be assembled onto the full ladder. Please follow these instructions to do so.
Flip both parts of the ladder so that the surface touching the buildplate is facing up like the image below. (You should see the notches circled in the image). Make sure BOTH blocks are oriented as shown below.

Snap in the joints one link at a time.

At one end of the ladder, snap in the triangular portion of the tie.

The portion that clips onto your shirt needs to be glued to the clip p2. After glue is applied, slide p1 into p2.

4. Once glue has cured, snap the two part subassembly into the ladder

NEW JACOBS LADDER MODEL AVAILABLE! Build it to any length!
