Description

I have designed a can holder for your Milwaukee Packout, and now also a “swing” mechanism so the can won’t spill when you open the lid while it is mounted on top.

This design is still in a very early stage, and I plan to make a version 2 that will hopefully keep the same functionality while being smaller and not requiring any bolts or nuts for assembly.
I am also still working on a good way to securely attach the Packout “foot” into the system grid so it doesn’t slide out on its own.

Hardware:

  • 4 x M6 locknuts
  • 2 x M6x15 countersunk bolts
  • 2 x M6x20 countersunk bolts

Assembly:
Use 2 locknuts and M6x15 bolts to mount the “swing” to the frame. The bolts should only be lightly tightened, as they act as the pivot point for the swing.

Attach the frame to the base/foot while the base is mounted in your Packout. Use M6x20 bolts here, as they need to go through and press against the Packout to lock the base in place.
Do not overtighten these bolts, as they may go through the Packout lid!

Print time: ~3 hours 15 minutes
Filament usage: ~132g

Print settings:

  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Wall/perimeter layers: 5
  • Infill: 15%

Safety:
Use at your own risk. Be careful during installation to avoid damaging your Packout.

Feedback:
As mentioned, this design is still in a very early stage, and I plan to continue developing it when I have time.
I would really appreciate feedback—especially ideas for how to lock the Packout base without having the bolts go all the way down into the Packout.
