Description

Battery-powered ESP32-S3 ePaper Train/Bus departure monitor with browser-based setup, live departure transit data, and deep-sleep power modes.

Currently working for the VRS (Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg) - Region in Cologne, Düsseldorf & Bonn. Feel free to change the code and adopt it to other regions and data providers.

Assembly:
1. Print all parts and connect the WIFI antenna to the eink baord
2. Slide in the power cable in the tube with the opening and extract it on the other side. You already need to funnel it through the battery
3. Insert the eink display already with the attached cable extension
4. Insert the printed display holder to keep it in place. Check placement, it needs to sit flush on the front
5. The battery cable should be now connected to the eink display board and the board should be placed on the printed backplate

6. Put tape on top of the slots for the buttons and stick the buttons to it from the inside (This helps with the next step)
7. Carefully slide the board sitting on the printed backplate in, so that the buttons on the board fit into the wholes of the printed buttons and the buttons are still pressable (This is the hardest part)
8. Connect the battery and close the battery lid
9. Flash the firmware to the board
