Description

🍣 Perfect Sushi Cucumber Slicer Guide (Katsuramuki)

Elevate your homemade sushi with this simple yet highly effective 3D-printed cutting guide! Inspired by a clever trick used in Japanese restaurants (where chefs sometimes attach chopsticks to their knives), this model helps you achieve paper-thin, perfectly even cucumber sheets with ease. No years of professional knife skills required!

These two guides attach magnetically to your kitchen knife, creating a consistent, fixed angle. This allows the blade to glide smoothly through the cucumber, slicing off continuous, ultra-thin layers (a technique known as Katsuramuki) that are ideal for sushi rolls, garnishes, and fresh salads.

Key Features:

  • Restaurant-Quality Precision: The built-in angle ensures perfectly thin and uniform slices every single time.
  • Magnetic Snap-On Design: Attaches securely to the side of your knife and can be easily adjusted or removed.
  • Quick & Easy Print: A simple, support-free design that prints flat and is ready in minutes.

Hardware Required: To assemble this model, you will need 4 round Neodymium magnets (size: 4x2mm). These fit into the dedicated slots on the printed parts. Depending on your printer's tolerances, they should press-fit, but a tiny drop of super glue can be used to secure them permanently.

Recommended Print Settings:

  • Material: PETG or PLA (Food-safe filaments are recommended).
  • Layer Height: 0.16mm or lower is recommended. A finer layer height creates a smoother surface, allowing the cucumber to glide effortlessly against the guide.
  • Orientation: Print the models laying flat on the build plate. No supports needed.

Disclaimer: Please ensure your printed parts and magnets are thoroughly washed with warm soapy water before coming into contact with food. Use caution when attaching and removing the guides near a sharp knife edge.

Enjoy making professional-looking sushi at home! Don't forget to upload your makes and share photos of your delicious creations. Happy printing!
