Universal Action Cam Tripod Adapter

Transform any standard photographic tripod into an ultra-stable mount for your Action Cam! This adapter is compatible with GoPro, DJI Osmo Action, Insta360 and any camera that uses the three-prong mount.

🛠 Project Features

• Maximum Robustness: The design includes a housing for an internal hex nut, ensuring the thread never strips (unlike threads directly tapped into plastic).
• Print Stability: The slicer is already set with a programmed pause to insert the bolt during printing, avoiding complex supports and making the part single and solid.

• Universal Compatibility: It screws onto any 1/4"-20 UNC plate or screw (the tripod standard).

   

🔧 Assembly Instructions

The project requires 2 standard M5 nuts (or those specific to your GoPro kit):

1. During printing: The printer will pause at a specific height. Insert the first nut into the designated slot at the base. Make sure it is well-seated and flush to prevent the print head from hitting it. Resume printing.
2. Post-print: Once finished, insert the second nut into the side housing of the upper "fork". This will be used to tighten your Action Cam's thumbscrew.

📦 What you need

• 1x M5 nut (to be inserted during printing).
• 1x M5 nut (to be inserted at the end).
• Your standard GoPro thumbscrew.

Photo tips:

• Take a macro photo of the nut "embedded" in the plastic while printing is paused.
• Show the adapter mounted on a real tripod.
• Take a screenshot of the slicer showing the pause command (the colored square on the layer bar).
