Description

🔧 GIANT SCREWDRIVER 4X… THAT ACTUALLY WORKS

Can I borrow a screwdriver?
Sure… but not a normal one.

This design started as a joke… but there’s more to it than it looks.

At first glance, it’s a fully oversized screwdriver (4:1 scale) made to surprise people. But once you hold it, things change:

👉 It actually works.

🎭 Designed for the April Fools’ Day 2026 contest

⚙️ WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL?

  • 🔩 3 independent parts
Handle, extension and bit — just like a real screwdriver
  • 🧲 Magnetic system
Works like a real tool with satisfying connections
  • 📏 4X scale
Oversized, ridiculous… perfect for a good prank
  • 🔧 Functional giant bit
The tip includes a hex socket for standard 1/4" bits

👉 The “giant bit” becomes a fully usable handle

🤯 DOUBLE USE

You can use it in two ways:

  1. Full prank mode
Assemble everything and pull out the giant screwdriver 😄
  2. Real tool mode
Use the giant bit alone with a standard 1/4" bit

🔧 ASSEMBLY

The design is split into multiple parts for easier printing and better strength.

🟠 Handle

  • Made of 2 parts
  • Connected using a hex insert
  • Fixed with cyanoacrylate glue

👉 Apply glue inside and press until fully seated

🔵 Extension

  • Made of 2 parts
  • Direct connection
  • Fixed with cyanoacrylate glue

👉 Make sure everything is aligned before the glue sets

🟡 Giant Bit

  • Independent piece
  • Includes socket for standard 1/4" bits

🧲 MATERIALS (MAGNETS)

You will need:

  • 4 × 10x3 mm magnets
  • 1 × 6x3 mm magnet

📍 Placement

  • 🟠 Handle
    → 1 × 10x3 mm magnet
  • 🔵 Extension
    → 2 × 10x3 mm magnets (one per side)
  • 🟡 Giant Bit
    → 1 × 10x3 mm magnet
    → 1 × 6x3 mm magnet at the tip

👉 The 6x3 mm magnet holds the real 1/4" bit

🖨️ PRINTING

  • Designed for easy printing
  • Tolerances tuned for a good fit

👉 Adjust depending on your printer if needed

⚠️ TIPS

  • Check magnet polarity before gluing
  • 🧴 Use a small amount of cyanoacrylate
  • 🧩 Dry-fit everything before final assembly

💬 NOTES

  • Compatible with standard 1/4" bits
  • Perfect as a prank, gift or conversation piece
  • Surprisingly useful for real tasks

😏 THE IDEA BEHIND IT
