Boost Me (for free)
If you enjoy clean designs and satisfying mechanisms, I’d really appreciate your support 🙌
This tambour design took a lot of iteration to get the motion smooth across different sizes, and your boost helps me keep improving and releasing more functional prints like this.
Thanks a lot 🚀
A clean and functional set of tambour storage chests, each featuring a smooth sliding door mechanism.
This design includes multiple sizes that share the same style and functionality, allowing you to choose the one that best fits your needs. Each chest works independently and is not physically connected to the others.
Perfect for organizing desks, tools, accessories, or everyday carry items — all while maintaining a modern, minimal aesthetic.
✨ Features:
- Smooth tambour sliding door mechanism
- Multiple size options (each unit is standalone)
- Compact and efficient storage
- Clean, modern design
- Satisfying open/close interaction
- Modular - Decorations are plug & play, and can be joined with other chests of the same dimensions.
📦 Important:
You can only connect chests of the same base dimension (60/90/120) regardless of length. However, note that chests of different scales are NOT compatible with one another, as their locking mechanisms vary to make them stronger together.
🛠️ Printing Tips:
- Use PLA+ or PETG for durability
- Ensure strong layer adhesion for the tambour slats
- Keep tolerances clean for smooth sliding
- Print slowly for best flexibility
⚙️ Assembly:
The tambour door feeds into the side rails and wraps smoothly around the structure. Assembly is simple and beginner-friendly.
This project focuses on combining mechanical satisfaction with practical storage — a great addition to any desk setup.
If you enjoy functional prints with clever mechanisms, this one’s for you 🙌

The chests TECHNICALLY support magnets, but they don't alight 100% so some strength is lost. I don't really recommend them, but left the holes in there in case anyone finds that useful. magnets are 8x2.
