Designed this spartan style helmet specifically for cats and small pets. It features cutouts for their ears so it sits comfortably on their head without squishing them. The design is heavily inspired by ancient Roman and gladiator armor but scaled and shaped to fit a standard feline skull. You can print the crest and nose guard in different colors to make the details pop just like the classic centurion look.
I highly recommend measuring the distance between your pets ears before scaling the model in your slicer. The base file is sized for an average adult cat but scaling it up or down slightly will ensure a perfect fit. It prints relatively easily but you will want to use standard tree supports for the ear holes and the front visor overhangs to keep the surface quality clean.
Recommended Print Settings
- Layer height: 0.16mm or 0.20mm works great
- Supports: Tree supports are highly recommended for the ear holes and the front visor arch
- Material: PLA is perfect for this since it is easy to paint and lightweight
