Description
I designed this in-ground composting bucket as a simple way to deal with kitchen scraps without needing a full compost setup. You bury it right in your garden bed, keep the lid accessible, and just drop scraps in as you go. The holes along the sides and bottom let air in and moisture out, and more importantly, they let the surrounding soil ecosystem do the work: worms and microbes move in, break things down, and feed your soil directly where it matters.
I’ve been printing it in PETG for better durability outdoors, but it also works in PLA if you’re just trying it out or don’t mind replacing it eventually. The locking lid keeps things contained and helps avoid water pooling on top. Overall, it’s meant to be low effort: no turning, no transferring compost, just a buried bin that quietly turns waste into something useful over time.
