Description

This alligator catch tray is designed as a functional organizer and decorative display piece for keys, coins, wallets, jewelry, and everyday carry items. The tray features an alligator moving through a textured water surface, creating a flowing ripple effect across the base of the tray.

The model is designed to be printed in two separate pieces:

  • The tray base
  • The alligator insert

There is a slot in the back of the tray that allows the alligator to be removed. This makes it possible to swap the alligator out for future insert designs, so the tray can be reused with different themes later on.

Important Printing Notes

To achieve the smooth wavy water texture, the alligator must be printed vertically. Printing vertically allows the layer lines to follow the flow of the water texture, which creates the smooth ripple effect seen in the photos.

I personally have not had issues with base adhesion when printing the alligator vertically, but I recommend cleaning your print plate before printing to reduce the chance of any print failures.
