Printing Instructions
Small print-in-place mechanism. Proper extrusion matters.
- Material: PLA recommended
- Supports: Not required
- Settings: Default profiles work
Choosing the Right Profile (Recommended)
Start with the Standard profile.
If needed:
- Too tight (hard to open / stuck) → use Loose Fit profile
- Too loose (weak latch / no resistance) → use Tight Fit profile
These profiles already adjust extrusion to compensate for filament variation.
Fine Tuning (Optional)
This is a compact precision part — extrusion accuracy directly affects performance.
If you prefer manual tuning:
- Too tight → reduce Flow Ratio slightly
- Too loose → increase Flow Ratio slightly
Adjust in small steps (±0.05) and reprint if needed.
Each filament behaves differently — even the same spool over time.

It attaches directly to the filament and can be opened and closed using just one hand — which, in practice, is exactly how you’ll want to use it. No magnets, no loose parts, and no extra steps. Just a clean, reliable mechanism that works.
Designed to avoid common mistakes
A small detail that makes a big difference: the directional arrows.
They ensure the filter is always installed in the correct orientation. If reversed, dust can be pushed back into the filament instead of being removed — something most filters don’t prevent.
This design eliminates that issue completely.

The opposing latch system provides a firm and balanced closure, keeping the filter securely in place even after many open/close cycles.
Inside, the geometry is carefully shaped to:
- hold the foam in place
- concentrate pressure on the filament path
