Description

The Signature Hook: Custom Over-Door & Cubicle Hanger

Want to put your mark on your own office space? Customize your own nameplate hanger for office partitions, cubicles, or home doors.

This is a fully customizable OpenSCAD generator that allows you to create personalized, heavy-duty hooks.

I originally designed these to make custom name hooks for people at work, but the geometry is highly flexible. Whether you need a 40mm gap for an office partition or a 35mm gap for a standard interior door, you can dial in the exact dimensions you need.

Updated the code to make the customisation options a bit more clear and the initial model should be more ‘ready to print’ with your own name added

Features:

  • Fully Parametric: Adjust hook width, partition gap, text size, font, and spacing directly in the MakerLab Customizer.
  • Auto-Scaling Geometry: Most of the scaling is done automatically, please note if you use a large font like in my photo's you may have to extend the vertical bar and move the text using the text offset slider.
  • Structural Fillets: Features built-in gussets/ribs inside the 90-degree bends to distribute stress and stop the hook from snapping under the weight of heavy coats or laptop bags, turn this up if you need to hang heavier items.
  • Wall Mount Option: Don't have a partition? Select the "Wall Mount" option in the dropdown to automatically generate countersunk screw holes so you can mount it flush to any wall or solid door.
  • Two Text Styles for the wall mounted option: Choose to have your name extruded outward (3D) or cleanly embossed into the front face.

Printing Instructions: This model was specifically programmed to be printed lying flat on its side.

  • Printing on the side aligns the layer lines along the length of the hook, maximizing structural strength and preventing snap-offs.
  • Printing the cubicle hanger or if you use the "Embossed" text option with a wall mount and lay the model flat, the entire hook prints flawlessly with zero supports required.
  • If hanging heavier items I recommend printing with an increased wall count, wall thickness and you can turn up the hook fillet setting if needed.

Note: The provided STL is a default 40mm partition hook reading "Jamie" - me :)  Click the Customize button to generate your own!

Boost Me (for free)

If you print one of these and like how it turned out, I would massively appreciate it if you could hit the "Boost" button or leave a make photo. I originally just designed this for a few colleagues around the office and it is my first model upload, so it would be great seeing some out in the wild. Happy printing!
