🎨 Parametric 3D Name Sign & Initial | Customizable Name Sign (No AMS / Multicolor)
Create a unique custom sign for your desk, shelf, or to make the perfect gift! 🚗✨ This smart parametric model allows you to combine a giant initial with an embossed name that fits with surgical precision inside.
It's specifically designed to leverage MakerWorld's Customizer. You can create endless combinations of names, fonts, and styles directly from your browser, without touching a single line of code or using 3D design software.
✨ Key Features (Features):
- 100% Parametric and Interactive: Change the initial, name, and fonts instantly from the green "Customize" button.
- Perfect Fit (Puzzle Style): The name is extracted from the initial with an adjustable tolerance for a press fit or a bit of looseness.
- No AMS needed for Multicolor effect! It's designed so you can export and print the pieces separately in different filaments. Get a spectacular two-color effect on any 3D printer!
- Optimized for PEI Bed: Includes a "Face-Down" printing option so the front face of the sign absorbs the texture (satin or textured) of your print bed, achieving a professional finish.
- Total Typography Control: Adjust the letter spacing to ensure names print as a single solid piece.
💡 Design Tip: If the letters of the name appear separated in the preview, reduce the value of "Letter Separation" until they touch. This ensures the name prints as a single solid block that you can fit into the initial.
🛠️ How to Customize Your Model / How to Customize:
- Click the green "Customize" button.
- Text: Type your initial (in uppercase) and the desired name.
- Fonts: Choose between classic, modern, or cursive styles. (Tip: If you choose a cursive font, adjust the spacing between 0.7 and 0.85 so the letters merge).
- Fit Tolerance (Clearance):
- 0.10 mm: Very tight fit (permanent).
- 0.15 mm: Firm fit (needs a bit of pressure).
- 0.20 mm: Standard fit (easy to insert and remove, recommended).
- Finish: Activate "Face Down" to print the visible side against the bed.
🛠️ Printing Tips (Slicer Settings):
- How to print in two colors without AMS?: Open the Customizer and generate two separate files. First select View = "base" and generate the STL. Then select View = "name" and generate the second STL. Print them in your favorite colors and you're done!
- Layer Height: 0.2mm is ideal and fast. If you want the typographic curves to look ultra smooth, use 0.16mm.
- Supports: NOT needed. Both pieces have completely flat bases.
- Infill: 10-15% (Gyroid recommended).
📦 Script View Modes: The code allows you to preview the model in 4 ways from the dropdown menu:
- Base: Only the initial with the cutout.
- Name: Only the unified name insert.
- Both: Both pieces ready on the same bed for separate printing.
- Assembled: Estimated final view to see how the colors and embossing fit together.
