Description

V1.2 improvements:

  • Adjustable rudder and elevator for more control

After the great response to the Cumulus 680, this variant explores a faster, more compact setup.

The Cumulus 400 Speed Wing is built for a faster flight and improved wind handling while maintaining stable, predictable characteristics.

Highlights

  • 400 mm wingspan — compact and faster in flight
  • Better wind penetration compared to the 680
  • Adjustable center of gravity
  • Cambered wing profile for efficient lift
  • 2° dihedral → stable and controlled handling
  • Predictable, self-stabilizing flight
  • Snap-fit assembly — no glue required

Update log:

  • V1.1 rear end of fuselage has been reinforced and error in print profile corrected regarding CG of nose
  • V1.2 Adjustable rudder and elevator

Note:
Feel free to share your print — I’d love to see how it turns out.

🙏 If you enjoyed flying it, a Boost is hugely appreciated!

Assembly Guide:

1) Fuselage

2) Stabilizers

3) Wings

Note: The Speed Wing has only one wing on each side of the fuselage.

Note: The curved side of the wing shapes shall be in contact with the wing. Due to printing tolerances, some force may be required to achieve full contact. Press against a hard surface or use pliers if necessary.

4) Wings on fuselage

5) Nose cone

Adjustments of center of gravity (CG):

Planes may not fly exactly the same because differences in filament, infill, and conditions can affect their weight and balance. For this reason, the CG can be adjusted to optimize flight performance.
