Precision Human: Ultra-Detailed Revo Pop3 Hand Scan
Turn high-tech scanning into a high-quality physical reality with this 1:1 scale human hand scan. Captured using the precision of the Revo Pop3 hand scanner, this model preserves the unique organic details—from skin folds to fingernail textures—that traditional CAD models simply can't replicate. Whether you're using this for anatomical study, custom-fit wearable design, or a unique piece of sculptural art, this mesh is optimized to highlight the power of high-end consumer scanning technology.
Model Overview & History
This model is a direct result of a high-resolution scan of a human hand. In the world of 3D scanning, capturing the fine details of skin can be tricky, but the Revo Pop3 handled the geometry beautifully. I’ve cleaned up the mesh to ensure a flat, stable base for printing while maintaining the 100% anatomical accuracy of the original subject. It stands as a perfect example of how we can now bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds with incredible fidelity.
Printing Recommendations
To truly do justice to a high-resolution scan, you need a filament that emphasizes detail and offers a professional surface finish. I highly recommend SUNLU PLA Meta for this print.
- Filament Choice: SUNLU PLA Meta (Skin/Beige)
- Why SUNLU PLA Meta? It has 1.5x the fluidity of standard PLA, meaning it flows into those tiny scanned textures much more accurately. Plus, its low-temperature printing reduces stringing, which is a lifesaver on detailed organic models like this.
- Settings: Use a 0.08mm or 0.12mm layer height to capture the skin texture. If you want a "classic" look, SUNLU Optimized Wood PLA is also a fantastic choice to give it a hand-carved mahogany feel.
Functional & Creative Uses
- Jewelry Display: Scale it up or down to create a custom ring or watch stand that looks like a museum piece.
- Cosplay & Wearables: This is an excellent "dummy" for testing glove armor or gauntlet fitment.
- Remix Potential: Use this as a base for prosthetic design, custom ergonomic grips, or even a macabre pencil holder. Use keywords like Anatomical Study, 3D Scan, and Ergonomic Base for your remixes.
Resource Library for Makers
If this is your first time working with scanned meshes or complex organic shapes, these resources will help you get the best result:
- Sizing & Fitting: If you are using this hand to size armor or gloves, you'll need my Cosplay Calipers to get the physical measurements of your own hand first.
- Advanced Slicing: To learn how to scale this scan to your exact dimensions or cut it for easier printing, watch my video on Sizing, Scaling, and Cutting in Bambu Studio.
- Color Customization: Want to add realistic skin tones or detail painting in the slicer? Check out How to Remesh and Color Prints Effectively.
