Silica trash sorting container - easy way to separate small particles from your silica. No more small silica particles everywhere.

I was sick of the small parts of silica and the fractions everywhere when you pour it in all the possible silica containers, so I designed this easy way to separate the waste from the silica. It separates all balls smaller than 2,2mm in diameter.

This easy to print container is made out of 3 parts - the grid, waste bin and the lid.

Important note: Print from original 3mf file, do not change the position of each object. The mesh is done by modifier, it will not be visible until you slice the parts!

There is V2 that added slider on the lid. This is for aesier pouring of the silica.

If you have V1, just reprint the lid and the slider, the rest is the same.

When assembling the slider, widen the lid and slide the slider in.

Use

  1. Put your silica in the grid part
  2. Put the lid on
  3. Give it a good shake
  4. Remove the lid
  5. Pour your silica in you containers
  6. Remove the bottom waste bin and take out the waste

Thanks to the design, you dont have to empty the waste bin every time.

The waste will not contaminate the silica again when pouring.

If you need to dry your silica, check out my  silica dryers. One is designed to work in the filament dryers, the other is ready to be fitted inside your P/X series printer. Click these images bellow to get to them.

Also I will really appreciate your feedback in the comments🙂
