The Sun card symbolizes the joy of life. The golden sun is the source of life, and all things are born from it. A smiling little cat, full of childlike innocence, rides on the back of a mouse, leaping forward towards freedom. The wreath on the cat's head and the familiar feather, identical to those on The Fool and Death, are said to symbolize transcending death and rebirth. Golden sunflowers bloom all around, like an artificial garden. However, the cat seems to prefer not these artificial beauties but chooses to chase the unadorned natural world, just like its naked body: real, natural, and innocent. All the sunflowers face the cat instead of the sun, as if telling us that a pure, natural, and authentic individual transcends the sun, representing a state far beyond power and wealth, and is also a source of happiness, just like the joy radiating from the cat's face

The interpretation of The Sun card is relatively simple, and can basically be summarized in one word: 'auspicious'. No matter what question is asked, the answer is usually auspicious. The reason for this auspiciousness lies with the person themselves. To put it somewhat mystically, it's because the person's aura is very auspicious; in reality, this manifests as the person having an open personality, a positive mindset, being friendly to others, and lively in conversation. Being with such a person, you feel bathed in sunshine and immense warmth, as if wherever they go, they can dispel negativity, their vital energy is strong, and no evil can touch them. Unless one has deep shadows in their heart and fears the light, who wouldn't want to be close to such a person? Who wouldn't want to invite them to a dinner? Who wouldn't want to work on a project with them? Whether teachers, classmates, bosses, or colleagues, who wouldn't want to be friends with such a person? Everyone around them hopes to be close to them, their value naturally increases, and good things naturally follow one after another

However, the interpretation of The Sun card also has its nuances. Its situation is similar to The Star and The Moon, meaning it 'may only reflect the subjective feelings of the querent, rather than objective reality'. Although in spreads mixing major and minor arcana, major arcana usually reflect the querent's psychological state, The Sun, The Moon, and The Star cards have their unique characteristics. For humans who have lived on the ground for generations, celestial bodies in the sky are unattainable presences. After thousands of years of effort, humanity has only reached the moon, while the sun and distant stars are simply untouchable for us. In contrast to earthly matters like The Emperor and The Tower, The Sun, The Moon, and The Star are more abstract existences for humans, thus their metaphysical and psychological significance far outweighs their practical meaning
