G-Scale Arch Bridge - Modular System
Print Profile(1)

Description
🚂 Modular G-Scale Arch Bridge - High Precision Engineering
[🇩🇪 German] Welcome to the ultimate arch bridge for your garden railway (G-Scale / LGB)! This model is not just another 3D print; it is the result of true attention to detail and structural precision. It was designed from the ground up to not only look fantastic but also to assemble like a professional architectural model.
The bridge can be fully parameterized in OpenSCAD.
Length, width, profile heights – all easily adjustable.
About this Print Profile (The 3MF File): This profile contains a perfectly prepared bridge set:
- Total Length: 450 mm
- Segment Layout: 3 parts (150 mm each)
- Arch Height: 150 mm
- Special Note: Only the pure arch segments (without crossbeams and snap-fit hooks) – ideal for model builders who want to use their own track bed or individual base plates (walkways)!
Engineering Highlights:
- 🧠 Invisible Joints (Open Sleeve Gussets): The bridge segments aren't just glued butt-to-butt! The gusset plates at the joints are designed as open U-sleeves (forks). The adjoining half-beam slides perfectly horizontally into this fork – making the seam completely disappear inside the rivet plate!
- 📐 Mathematically Perfect Portals: No clunky rectangular boxes at the bridge ends! The portals feature custom-calculated trapezoidal gusset plates. They sit perfectly flush against the vertical pillar on one side and seamlessly follow the exact parabolic slope of the top chord on the other.
- 🔩 Rivet-Counter Approved: The rivets aren't just randomly placed. The underlying script calculates the true mathematical centroid of every plate (even the angled trapezoids!) and places the rivets with a perfect 4mm inset precisely into the corners.
- 🏗️ True Parabolic Geometry: The top chord doesn't use a cheap circular arc; it follows a genuine, mathematically calculated parabola for optimal load distribution.
Happy printing and building! I look forward to seeing your makes and pictures of your garden railway layouts!
