Planet Hive Portable Board - Expansion Pack

This is a quick addition to the original “Planet Hive” board game (itself a derivative of the Hive game). This adds three different tiles, similar to the expansion pack version of the original hive game. You can print this profile twice, inverting the colours, for a full 6 additional tiles. You can modify the original carrying case by approximately 34mm to account for the new tiles. The new tiles are as follows:

1. Galaxy (Pillbug)

    

   • Represents the pillbug in the original game.

   • Movement: The galaxy's black hole at the center sweeps other tiles up with it. THis tile’s basic movement ability is like the queen – it can move one space at a time. However, it also has an ability that it can use instead of moving where it can pick up an adjacent tile (either belonging to you or an opponent), move it up on top of itself and then put it down in an adjacent vacant space.

      

2. Alien (Mosquito)

    

   • Represents the mosquito in the original game.

   • Movement: The alien mind-probes you so that the tile adapts its movement abilities throughout the game by mimicking the movement ability of a tile that it is touching at the start of your turn (either belonging to you or an opponent).

      

3. Comet (Ladybug)

    

   • Represents the ladybug in the original game.
   • Movement: The comet jets its way around the various orbits. This tile crawls up on top of the hive and moves three spaces in total. It moves exactly two spaces on top of the playing space before using its third move to fall down again into a vacant space.
   • Rules: It cannot end its turn on top of the planet.

Hive: Space Edition – Rules Overview

Hive: Space Edition is a two-player abstract strategy game. Each player controls a set of hexagonal tiles representing different space-themed elements. The goal of the game is to completely surround your opponent's Planet tile, using both your own tiles and those of your opponent.
