Description
GE Mini-Fridge Replacement Key (Parametric & Magnet-Ready)
The Problem: Lost Proprietary Keys
If you’ve lost the factory key to your 2005-era GE mini-fridge (or similar models), you know the frustration. Buying a metal replacement online can cost $10+ and takes days to ship. This 3D-printed alternative is a "Print-it-Now" solution that restores the security of your food or beverage storage immediately.
Features:
- Security & Peace of Mind: Perfect for dorm rooms, shared offices, or shared living spaces where you need to ensure your food source remains untampered with.
- Parametric SCAD Included: Don't have a GE fridge? The included .SCAD file allows you to customize the hex/pentagonal size and handle shape to fit almost any lockable mini-fridge or wine cooler.
- Magnet-Ready: The handle is designed with a flat back. Simply adhere a small round magnet (available at most hardware stores or Walmart) to keep the key securely stored on the side of the fridge so it never goes missing again.
Printing Instructions:
- Material: PETG or ASA is highly recommended. While PLA may work, the torque required to turn the lock can cause PLA to shear over time. PETG provides the necessary durability and slight flex for a long-lasting tool.
- Orientation: Print flat for maximum strength along the hex shaft.
- Walls/Infill: Use at least 4 walls and 25% gyroid infill to ensure the key can handle the mechanical stress of the lock cylinder. I used 6 walls and 25% infill. It's thin, and it needs to be strong.
- Print Two: You already saved yourself almost 10 dollars. Print two. Have a spare key of your spare key.
