Description
Hanging Apple Bird Feeder
A simple bird feeder designed to hold an apple for our backyard friends.
The feeder hangs from the top hole using twine, string, or a small cord. The apple sits in the middle with a centre spike to retain it, and the front perch gives birds a place to land while they peck at the fruit.
The design is straightforward, lightweight, and prints without supports. The print profile provided is set up for PLA.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU REMOVE THE APPLE CORE, OR THE APPLE BEFORE THE BIRDS CAN REACH THE SEEDS. THEIR SEEDS ARE POISONOUS TO BIRDS AND EVEN A SMALL AMOUNT CAN KILL THEM.
Approximate Size
- Outer ring diameter: 5 inches
- Inner diameter: 3 inches
- Overall width including spike ends: 6.25 inches
Assembly
Print the parts, slide the perch into place, and insert the retaining pin to secure it. Add an apple to the centre spike, then hang the feeder using twine, string, or cord through the top hole.
Notes
This was designed as a simple way to offer birds fresh fruit in the yard. Check the apple regularly and replace it when needed. Also, please ensure you keep it clean by washing it with mild soap and water.
